Interview with Michael Maglaras & Excerpt From His New Film About the Arts of the WPA

In this film clip, writer/director Michael Maglaras of 217 Films discusses two WPA-era murals by Carl W. Peters used in his forthcoming film “Enough to Live On: The Arts of the WPA.” 

"Enough to Live On: The Arts of the WPA" will be shown for the first time anywhere on May 14, 2015 at the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, Connecticut.  

The two murals featured in this clip -- "Life of Action" and "Life of Contemplation" -- were shot at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, New York.

Des Moines Art Center to Screen Armory Show Film

217 Films' "The Great Confusion:  The 1913 Armory Show" will screen March 26 at the Des Moines Art Center.

Director Michael Maglaras will be in attendance to introduce the film.

This film has been showing to standing room only audiences since it premiered in September 2013.

A recent review in The Dartmouth said of “The Great Confusion” that “Michael Maglaras...brought the drama of the original show back to life.”  Mike Holtzclaw noted in the Daily Press "For anyone who enjoys art, this is an eye opening film."
